Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 10 : Lashing out at the previous KC Rao government, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy claimed that the Congress government has given 30,000 jobs since coming to power.
He also said that in case the District Selection Committe (DSC) exams are postponed, it will be a loss to students.
Accusing the former Chief KC Rao of provoking the students, CM Reddy said, "Whenever KC Rao weakens, they provoke students to consolidate his party. He is trying to get students bodies".
He challenged KT Rama Ra and Harish Rao to sit on an indefinite hunger strike in front of Arts College, Osmania University. "I challenge KTR and Harish Rao to sit on an indefinite hunger strike untill the exams are postponed in front of the Arts College. They won't do that. You are conspiring to sacrifice the lives of the poor children".
Addressing a gathering at Mahabubnagar on Tuesday, CM Reddy said, "For the last 10 years, exams were not conducted and government jobs were not given. As soon as Congress came to power, we gave 30,000 jobs and issued notification for DSC and Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 exams".
Speaking on the protests of students to postpone DSC exams, CM Reddy said, "Our government is trying to declare the results of these exams by December 9 and give jobs to thousands of unemployed people. But some are asking to postpone the exams".
Cautioning against some coaching center owners who were allegedly supporting these protests to make money, CM Reddy said, "Some coaching center owners are doing artificial protests to make good business from the plight of the unemployed youth".
CM Reddy further added: "If the exams are postponed, coaching center's will survive. If any exam, either Group 1 or Group 2 is postponed for one month, each coaching center will collect Rs 100 crores as fees. Today, the coaching center mafia is asking to postpone the exams by hiring some people to protest on the roads. What does the government have to lose? If the exams are postponed, it is a loss to the students. Coaching centers are asking to postpone the exams to earn money".
The DSC exam, meant for the recruitment of teachers in government and local body schools, is scheduled to be conducted from July 17 to August 5.
A group of DSC aspirants and BRSV activists held a protest on Tuesday, demanding the exams be postponed by three months, until October.
