Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], August 28 : Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that the Telangana Talli statue will be unveiled in the Secretariat, on December 9 this year and will be the epicentre of State administration, said a statement from CMO.
This historic event of the unveiling of the statue of Telangana Talli will be organised on the lines of Million March which was conducted during the intensified Telangana movement.
Amidst chanting Vedic hymns by the priests, the Chief Minister performed Bhumi Puja for the installation of the Telangana Talli statue in the secretariat premises on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister said that the government planned to organise the Bhumi Puja in a grand manner. Vedic scholars suggested that there are no auspicious days till Dasara festival and hence the Bhumi Puja program is conducted today in hurry even in the absence of the Deputy CM, who is on Kerala visit, and other ministers who already preoccupied with their official programs, added the statement from the CMO.
CM Revanth Reddy said that his government decided to install Telangana Talli statue in the Secretariat which is the heart of State administration. The government has been taking all decisions related to the state administration and people are also being given opportunity to express their problems here.
The chief minister expressed his anger for not permitting people inside Secretariat by the previous Chief Minister and ministers. The last government presented a Rs 22.50 lakh crore budget during the 10-year rule but failed to spend at least Rs One crore to install the Telangana Talli statue in the Secretariat, mentioned the statement further.
CM Revanth Reddy said that he already announced the installation of Telangana Talli statue in the Secretariat on June 2. The CM lambasted the previous government for not installing Telangana Bill statue during the 10-year regime.
It is a long-cherished wish to install the Telangana Talli statue which reflects the image of mother of Telangana and the cultural ethos of the state, the CM said that the statue should not symbolise the aristocratic characters and hence the JNTU, Fine Arts department has been entrusted with the responsibility of designing the statue as per the wishes of Telangana people, read the statement from CM's office.
Achievement of Telangana state is a testament to the determination and perseverance of Telangana movement activists, the CM said praising AICC leader Sonia Gandhi for fulfilling the 60-year-old aspirations of Telangana state people and committed to her speech in Karimnagar public meeting.
The formation of Telangana state in 2014 is a matter of pride for all and it should be inscribed in golden letters in the history. The previous rulers between 2014 and 2024 boasted about themselves that they had built Telangana and were role models for the world.
The CM took a broadside at the last government for neglecting the Telangana Talli and criticized that the previous rulers had acted in such a way that they considered themselves to be the property of Telangana and Telangana as their assets.
The Congress-led People's government is against practicing such policies, the Chief Minister said, reminding that Telangana people were barred from entering the Pragati Bhavan by erecting a huge fence and guarding by hundreds of policemen.
Pragati Bhavan was a restricted Fort in the previous government and today it has become an example for the country. People are permitted to move freely in Praja Bhavan.
