"There will be more seats this time in Lok Sabha and Assembly polls": BJD MP Muzibulla Khan

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], April 22 : Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Muzibulla Khan expressed confidence on Sunday that the party will win more seats in the Lok Sabha and assembly elections in Odisha than in the previous polls.
"...Our party president, Naveen Patnaik, has kept me on the star campaigner list. I am grateful to my leader for considering me worthy of serving the party...I expect our result to be very good, and there will also be more seats this time in both the Lok Sabha and the Assembly elections," Khan told ANI on Sunday.
"Naveen Patnaik will become the chief minister once again with a comfortable majority. The record shall be maintained," he added.
BJD on Saturday announced a 40-star campaigners' list for the Assembly and the Lok Sabha polls featuring Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, BJD Leader Kartik Pandian, and BJD organization Secretary Pranab Prakash Das in the list among others.
A host of ministers, former ministers, MLAs, and cine stars are also included in the list. Senior leaders Debi Prasad Mishra, Prasanna Acharya, and Sarada Prasad Nayak are among others on the list.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, BJD got the maximum number of seats, followed by the BJP and the Congress. The BJD won 12 seats, the BJP finished a close second at 8 seats, and the Congress bagged just a lone seat.
In the 2019 Assembly polls, the BJD secured a significant victory with 112 seats, with Naveen Patnaik becoming CM for the fifth consecutive time since 2000.
The Election Commission announced that the general elections in Odisha will be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections and will be completed in four phases, starting from Phase 1 on May 13, Phase 2 on May 20, Phase 3 on May 25, and the final phase on June 1.
Assembly elections for Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh will also be held simultaneously with the General Elections
The results will be announced on June 4.
The first phase of voting for 102 parliamentary constituencies spread over 21 states and Union Territories was held on Friday with a voter turnout of nearly 64 per cent. The estimated voter turnout was recorded at 63.89 per cent till 9:00 pm in the first phase of polling.
The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are being held in seven phases, starting on April 19. The counting of votes is on June 4.
The next round of voting will be held on Friday, April 26.
