"They have contributed a lot; they should get 10 percent reservation": Uttarakhand CM Dhami

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 18 : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday congratulated all the agitators and their dependents on the passage of the bill that gives 10 per cent reservation to them and said that they have done a lot for the state and they should get the reservation.
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "The state agitators have contributed a lot to the formation of Uttarakhand state, so to secure their rights, they should get 10 percent horizontal reservation, for this a bill was brought in the assembly and passed. This bill has been approved by the Governor, now it will be implemented legally... The government does what it says. I congratulate all the agitators and their dependents on the passage of the bill."
Earlier, in the day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed happiness over the approval of the bill related to the provision of 10 percent reservation in government service for state agitators by the Governor of the state Lt Gen Retd Gurmeet Singh, said an official release.
The Chief Minister has also expressed his gratitude to the Governor for this regard.
The Chief Minister said that the state government can never forget the struggle and sacrifice of the state agitators. State agitators have always been respectable for us. Our government gives top priority to their facilities.
The Chief Minister said that the state government had decided to give 10 percent reservation in government jobs to the state agitators and all their dependents and its bill was passed in the Assembly and sent to the Governor, on which he has given his consent. This has also fulfilled a big pending demand of the state agitators.
The Chief Minister said that along with increasing the pension of the state agitators, we have also decided to give pension to their dependents after the death of the state agitators. The state government is working with commitment to make Uttarakhand of the dreams of the state agitators.
