Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], February 5 : Following the outcome of the Jharkhand Floor Test, BJP MLA CP Singh expressed his discontentment with the results, emphasizing that while the ruling party secured the majority and won the Trust Vote, it does not absolve them of their alleged wrongdoings.
"They had the majority and they won the Trust Vote. This is not surprising. But with this, the sins of the government have not gone away. It will all be exposed, and they will have to face punishment. That won't go away."
Singh further expressed skepticism about Chief Minister Champai Soren's leadership capabilities, claiming that his ascent to the position of CM was akin to winning a lottery.
"Champai Soren is innocent, a rubber stamp. He won the lottery and became the CM. When he isn't a CM anymore, he will get the benefits of an ex-CM too. He will be loyal," the BJP MLA said.
"But we would like to tell him to not repeat things otherwise he too will get entangled with the ED-CBI," he added.
Jharkhand CM Champai Soren won the trust vote in the state assembly on Monday.
While 47 MLAs voted in favour of the trust motion, 9 legislators opposed it in the 81-member assembly. Independent legislator Saryu Roy didn't participate in the voting process. Seventy-seven MLAs were present in the assembly during the voting.
Champai Soren, a minister in Hemant Soren's government, was elected as the leader of the legislative party on January 31. He took oath as the chief minister of the state on February 2.
Former CM Hemant Soren was arrested in connection with a money-laundering probe. He resigned as the chief minister of Jharkhand before his arrest.
