Toddler's body found abandoned in Kerala's Kochi

Ernakulam (Kerala) [India], May 3 : A toddler's body was found abandoned in the middle of the road in Kadavantra, Kochi. CCTV footage of the body being thrown from the adjacent flat has come out. A 23-year-old resident of the flat confessed to the crime.
The CCTV footage was crucial in the case of the newborn baby being found dead in Panampilly Nagar. The police found that the woman committed the crime alone. The parcel cover that accompanied the dead body made the investigation easier.
In the case of the discovery of the body of a newborn in Kochi, the investigation reached the accused very quickly. Nearby CCTV footage proved key to this. It is clear in these videos that the body of the child is being thrown on the road.
Along with this, the parcel cover which was with the dead body helped to reach the accused very easily. The incident came to light after questioning the 23-year-old resident of the flat. A blood stain was also found in the woman's bathroom. The statement received by the police is that the girl was a victim of rape. Based on this further investigation will be done.
The dead body lying on the road was seen by the Kochi Engineering College bus driver around 8 am. The police came to the accused with the help of CCTV footage of the baby being wrapped in a parcel cover and thrown on the road from a nearby flat.
It will be clear after the post-mortem whether the baby was thrown after killing it or was killed by throwing it. More details came from questioning the woman.
The parents did not know that the woman was pregnant and gave birth. She gave birth in the bathroom in the morning wrapped the baby in a blanket and threw it out. The survivor was shifted to the hospital for treatment.
