Tripura CM Manik Saha celebrates 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' on Sardar Patel's birth anniversary

Agartala (Tripura) [India], November 1 : Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha observed the 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Tuesday in the state capital.
The event was organised by the Tripura Police Department at A.D. Nagar police ground in Agartala on Tuesday.
CM Saha paid floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's statue as a part of respect to the 'Iron Man of India'. Later, he also addressed the people who attended the event.
"Attended the observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at A.D. Nagar police ground to commemorate birth anniversary of Iron Man of India- Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Ji. Administered the pledge of unity & integrity to the police & force personnel, who participated in the Parade. Sardar Patel Ji's spirit of unity will continue to inspire us to reach greater heights" said the Tripura CM in his post on X.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday also paid floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Statue of Unity at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat's Narmada district. The 'Statue of Unity', dedicated to Sardar Patel, was inaugurated here by PM Modi on October 31, 2018.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day is celebrated in India on 31 October. It was introduced by the Government of India in 2014.
The day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who had a major role in the political integration of India.
The day also celebrates India's unity and pays tribute to Patel's efforts to keep the country united.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first home minister of independent India, was born on October 31, 1875, and his birth anniversary is celebrated as National Unity Day in India.
Earlier on October 26, Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the immersion carnival of Goddess Durga at Agartala city centre.
As many as 100 Durga idols from various puja organizers and clubs were brought to Agartala Dashamighat for immersion.
The event was organised by the Information and Cultural Affairs department of Tripura on at Agartala city centre.
