Tripura CM Manik Saha visits violence-affected families of Ganda Twisa region of Tripura

Dhalai (Tripura) [India], August 4 : The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, paid a visit to the families who were affected by the recent violence that took place in the Ganda Twisa area of the Dhalai district of Tripura on Sunday.
Saha first visited the family of Parameswar Reang, who was attacked at a local fair on July 7 in that area, suffering from grave injuries and later dying on July 12 during treatment at the GBP Hospital in Agartala.

His death erupted a row of violence in which many houses and shops were either looted or set ablaze around five locations on the outskirts of the main Ganda Twisa market.
CM Saha visited the residence of Reang and expressed his condolences to his family. He further announced additional financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to his family after the state government already announced assistance of Rs 6 lakh to the deceased.
"On July 7, a youth from Ganda Twisa, Parameswar Reang, was seriously injured in an unexpected incident. He later died during treatment at GBP Hospital in Agartala...Today, I visited the residence of the deceased and interacted with the bereaved family, expressing my condolences. The youth's death is an irreparable loss for the family; it can't be compensated. However, the state government has already announced financial assistance of Rs. 6 lakh for the deceased's family. Today, I have announced an additional assistance of Rs. 4 lakh," he said.
Saha also visited the 145 families who were affected due to violence in 33KV areas and personally took stock of the situation there.

"In recent Ganda Twisa incident, 145 families were affected at 33KV (6/7 Card & 30 Card) areas. Our government has taken the necessary steps after the incident. Today, I have personally visited Ganda Twisa to take stock of the situation. During my visit, interacted with the affected families," he said.
He also announced an additional relief of Rs 2.30 crore in addition to Rs 1.14 crore of financial assistance already announced by the state government to the families there.
"The State Government has already disbursed Rs. 1,14,80,000 for the assistance to affected families. After inspection today, I have announced additional relief of Rs. 2,30,40,000," he said.
He further announced Rs 239.10 crore for 17 projects for overall development and restoration in Ganda Twisa.
"Besides, assured all concerned that stringent action would be taken against those involved in the incident. Also announced 17 projects worth Rs. 239.10 crore for overall development and restoration of peace in Ganda Twisa," he said.
