Jun 03, 2024

Agartala (Tripura) [India], June 3 : As the state of Tripura eagerly awaits the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, comprehensive preparations for the vote-counting process have been scrutinised by key officials in West Tripura.
Vishal Kumar, the Returning Officer, along with the West Tripura Observer, conducted a detailed review to ensure a smooth and efficient counting process on Tuesday.
The review session, held at the counting centres, involved thorough checks of the facilities, security arrangements, and logistical provisions to handle the vote counting seamlessly. Dr Vishal Kumar emphasised the importance of transparency and accuracy in the vote-counting process, reiterating the commitment to uphold democratic principles.
The Observer for West Tripura also underscored the necessity of stringent security measures to maintain the integrity of the election results. Coordination with law enforcement agencies has been strengthened to prevent any disruptions or untoward incidents during the counting.
Additionally, training sessions for the counting staff have been conducted to familiarize them with the procedures and protocols. These sessions aimed to minimise errors and ensure that every vote would get counted correctly.
With all preparations in place, the administration has been poised to deliver a credible and transparent outcome, reflecting the true mandate of the people of West Tripura.
Notably, the exit polls predicted that the ruling BJP-led NDA is poised to improve its performance over its 2019 record when it won 352 seats. Two polls predicted the BJP also improving its numbers from the 303 seats it won in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
If the exit poll predictions come true on June 4 when votes are counted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will become the only PM after Jawaharlal Nehru to win three successive terms in Lok Sabha polls. The exit polls predicted 'Modi 3.0' with PM Modi having led the BJP's poll effort through rallies and roadshows in various parts of the country.
