Howrah (West Bengal) [India], May 12 : Two sisters presented their drawings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his campaign in West Bengal's Howrah on Sunday.
The elder sister, Vani Sharma was filled with tears of joy as the Prime Minister assured her that he would be collecting her sketch after his campaign speech.
"Please put down your hand. I will collect it from you at the end. I have seen it. You have made this sketch with such love. My team will come and take it from you," the Prime Minister said asking her not to cry.
Speaking to ANI, after the campaign speech, Vani Sharma said that her dream to meet the Prime Minister finally came true.
"I felt overwhelmed. I made a portrait of PM Modi. I started working on it from day before yesterday. I had always dreamt of meeting PM Modi by showcasing my talent," Sharma who stays at a residential complex at Howrah's Carry Road said speaking to ANI.
On Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she said, "I admire him as a leader, an icon and an inspirational figure. I think of him as my second grandfather. He is an icon for the entire country."
Meanwhile, her sister, Unnati Sharma who was at the campaign and drew a picture on the theme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao said she expects Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hang her drawing at his place.
"I made the painting the day before yesterday, on May 10. I came here to give my painting to PM Modi. I have written my name and address behind it. Now PM Modi will hang it at his place. I am very happy," Sharma said.
Meanwhile, while addressing a public meeting in Hooghly, PM Modi asked the Special Protection Group (SPG) commandos to collect the portrait of his mother (brought as gifts) from two young people.
"The people in the rally are here who made the picture of my mother. The people in 'West' celebrate this day as Mother's Day, but in India, we worship our Mother, Ma Durga, Ma Kaali and Bharat Mata, 365 days a year. I request SPG commandos to collect the pictures. Please mention your addresses at the back of the paper. SPG people take photos of my mother from both people. I want to thank both of you," PM Modi said on Sunday.
