Patna (Bihar) [India], July 27 : Targeting Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said that Tejashwi and Rohini were born with a golden spoon, and it is very unfortunate that the Leader of the Opposition wasn't present in the house for even a single day.
Sinha also emphasised that the session of the Bihar Assembly was short but useful.
"The session of the Bihar Assembly was short but useful, and many issues of public interest were raised. The seriousness and activism of the opposition were not seen, and their leaders were missing. Instead of listening to the government on every small issue, creating a ruckus, spreading chaos, and lowering the dignity of the assembly, this act of opposition was not in the interest of the House. The absence of the Leader of the Opposition in the House is sad...Not coming for even a day, an hour in the short session of 5 days shows the monarchical attitude of the opposition," he said.
"They (Tejashwi Yadav and Rohini Acharya) were born with a golden spoon and have turned a constitutional position into a family position. It was very unfortunate that the Leader of Opposition wasn't present in the House for even a single day during the five-day session. How long will he run the show in the name of his father," Bihar Deputy CM added.
Bihar's second Deputy CM, Samrat Choudhary, also targeted the RJD and said that they shouldn't have any kind of misunderstanding as the people of Bihar have helped the BJP win the majority of seats.
"In RJD for 27 years, one person remained party chief. This, however, doesn't happen in the BJP. People of Bihar have helped us win 30 out of the 40 seats in the state. Therefore, they shouldn't have any kind of misunderstanding," he said.
Sunil Singh, RJD leader and close aide of Lalu Prasad Yadav, was expelled from the Legislative Council as he was charged with mimicking Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
A complaint was made to the Ethics Committee of the Legislative Council, Bihar, regarding RJD MLC Sunil Kumar Singh reportedly mimicking CM Nitish Kumar in the Legislative Council.
RJD leader Sunil Singh termed it a "black day in democracy."
In defence of the expulsion, JD (U) leader Neeraj Kumar stated, "He was declared guilty by the Ethics Committee. Now, the final decision lies with the Chairman of the Legislative Council."
Claiming that the BJP-led Centre has "deceived the people of Bihar" by not giving 'Special Status' to the state, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday blasted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for "not uttering even a word" over the issue.
The former deputy CM said that the RJD knew beforehand that the BJP-led NDA government would not give 'Special Status' to Bihar.
Yadav told ANI, "We knew beforehand that the BJP-NDA would not give 'Special Status' to Bihar and that JD (U) too is doing drama. With just a small amendment, other poor states like Bihar can be given 'Special Status'. Big amendments have been made earlier too. It is our long-standing demand...NDA has deceived the people of Bihar. CM used to say that he would agitate and hit the streets. Now, the CM is not uttering even a word over 'Special Status' to Bihar."
