Union Budget: Rajasthan Minister Avinash Gehlot lauds government for allocating Rs 3 lakh crore for women-related schemes

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], July 23 : Rajasthan Minister Avinash Gehlot hailed the union government for allocating Rs 3 lakh crore for schemes benefiting women and girls while sharing his views over the Union Budget.
It is envisaged as a measure to promote women-led development.
"Rs 3 lakh crores have been allocated for schemes benefiting women and girls. Under Surya Ghar scheme 1 crore homes will be given 300 unit of free electricity. Kisan Credit Seva will be begin in five states including Rajasthan. As our allies Bihar has been allocated a special package of Rs 5,700 crores and 15,000 crores for Andhra Pradesh," said Gehlot.
The Union Minister said that the government will facilitate higher participation of women in the workforce through the setting up of working women hostels in collaboration with industry and establishing creches.
In addition, the partnership will seek to organise women-specific skilling programmes and promote market access for women SHG enterprises, Sitharaman announced.
"This budget focuses on the welfare of every section. In this budget, the prices of things that are used in everyday life like cancer drugs, mobile, leather, electric wires and other items have been reduced," he added.
Gehlot also thanked PM Modi on behalf of Rajasthan and said, "I extend gratitude on behalf of Rajasthan to PM Narendra Modi for giving this historic budget. We will achieve the goal of 'Viksit Bharat' through this budget. Keeping the vision of 2047, we will try to develop the nation."
In her budget announcement, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted new airports and medical colleges in Bihar, temple corridors, and special funds for the Rajgir Jain Temple site. Andhra Pradesh received special financial support to address its need for capital, with an allocation of Rs 15,000 crore for the current fiscal year.
