New Delhi [India], July 29 : Union Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, launched the Ideas4LiFE initiative on Monday at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. The initiative invites ideas related to products and services that promote environment-friendly lifestyles. Minister of State for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh, also attended the event.
Yadav encouraged students, research scholars, faculty, and innovators to propose innovative and out-of-the-box ideas that align with the Prime Minister's vision of mindful and deliberate resource utilisation.
During the event, Yadav emphasised the initiative's goal of motivating students, faculty, and research scholars to contribute to the global 'Mission LiFE'. He highlighted this as a remarkable opportunity for inspired minds to join a movement dedicated to environmental sustainability.
Addressing the importance of Mission LiFE, Yadav pointed out that while nature provides us with pure resources, our output tends to be impure. He said, "This is the time to introspect and save nature to sustain it for future generations. Nature provides us with food, oil, energy, and medicine for our lives. When nature gives us everything needed for survival, it is our responsibility to save it."
The launch event was attended by Secretary (EF&CC) Leena Nandan, Chairman of the University Grants Commission Prof. Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Director of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi Prof. Rangan Banerjee, and other senior dignitaries from government and academic institutions. The event saw vibrant participation from over 1,000 students, research scholars, and academic faculty from various educational institutions.
