Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 6 : BJP National President and Union Health Minister JP Nadda and J-K BJP President Ravinder Raina paid tribute to Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee on his birth anniversary in Jammu on Saturday.
JP Nadda said, "I have got the privilege of coming here on the birth anniversary of our founding president Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee, I salute him. Syama Prasad Mukherjee had a special relationship with Jammu and Kashmir. He never stopped in his life, he did not work for any post or prestige, but he dedicated his life to strengthening the idea of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'"
He further said that Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was a revolutionary and willing to sacrifice everything for the country.
He further said, "He was an intellectual. To participate in the freedom movement he resigned from the post of Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calcutta. He led the movement to save West Bengal and Punjab from the hands of Pakistan. He decided that in one country two symbol, two chief would not work and J&K would have to be an integral part of the country. He was arrested and took his last breath in Srinagar jail on June 23, 1953. Under PM Modi majority government was formed in 2014, 2019 and 2024. And due to the willpower of PM Modi and strategy of Home Minister Shah Article 370 was abrogated and BJP govt ensured the concept of One symbol, one Legislature and one chief."
He further mentioned that the sacrifice of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee has not gone in vain.
"When Pandit Nehru became the PM three times the opposition was only for the namesake but PM Modi achieved this feat through hard work and blessings of the people. There are 1500 small and big parties in the country but BJP is karyakarta based party where there is no dynastic politics. Although the Congress has not crossed 100 seats for the third time still it is celebrating. In 13 states Congress has zero votes in Lok Sabha polls. Congress has not won on their votes but on the support of other parties. They had a 26 percent strike rate where they fought on their own and 50 percent strike rate where they fought in a coalition. BJP is the only party that is self-reliant and won on its own might," he added.
