UP: 3 killed, 5 injured in explosion at firecracker factory in Bareilly

Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 2 : Three people were killed while five others were injured in an explosion at a firecracker factory in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly on Wednesday evening, officials said.
According to Bareilly Superintendent of Police, Aqmal Khan, four houses located adjacent to the factory were collapsed in the explosion. Three people were killed and five others, including a woman, sustained injuries in the incident.
"We got the information that four houses, including one of Rahman Shah, collapsed. Injured people have been taken to a nearby hospital. The licence for manufacturing firecrackers was in the name of Nasir Shah, and the incident site is his in-law's house," the SP said.
Bareilly Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Vishram Singh said, "Three injured people have been brought to our emergency ward. Two others were brought dead. We are yet to confirm their identity."
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased, and wished for the speedy recovery of those injured. The CM has directed the administration authorities to provide the victims with proper treatment.
CM Yogi has also directed administration officials to reach the spot and expedite the relief work.
