Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 27 : The Uttar Pradesh administration on Saturday demolished the illegal encroachments in Mainpuri using bulldozers.
Sub-district magistrate Prasun Kashyap mentioned that some people illegally occupied the land but it originally belonged to the village society.
"This land belonged to the village society and some people had illegally occupied it...today bulldozer action has been taken..." said Sub-district magistrate Prasun Kashyap.
Earlier, Cabinet Minister Sanjay Nishad made striking remarks over bulldozers being used in the state. The Uttar Pradesh minister pointed out that if the bulldozer is used, where will the votes come from?
He stated that the bulldozer was a terror for the mafias. But if there is a poor woman who has been living there for 90-100 years and doesn't have papers, some people object. So, they go and use the bulldozer. If we displace a poor person, they will displace us politically.
He further supported his statement using Jaunpur's example and said in Jaunpur, a woman complained against a Yadav Pradhan, and after investigation, the complaint was found to be valid. The Pradhan stopped the investigation and filed a complaint against the woman, resulting in a bulldozer demolishing her house.
Earlier in the month of June, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde instructed the Municipal Commissioners and Police Commissioners of Thane and Mira-Bhainder to bulldoze all the illegal constructions related to drugs in the cities.
It was recently noticed that some youths were consuming drugs in Pune. Taking serious notice of this, CM Shinde ordered the Pune Police Commissioner and Municipal Commissioner to use bulldozers to destroy the unauthorized constructions related to drugs.
After that, extensive activities were carried out in this regard in Pune city. Illegal constructions related to drugs in Thane City and Mira-Bhyander City should be destroyed by using bulldozers, suggested the Chief Minister.
