UP govt to conduct teachers' training campaign across the state from October 25 to December 10

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 24 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government will train teachers and Shiksha Mitras' from across the state from October 25 to December 10 through the Basic Education Department, said officials.
The objective behind the initiative is to develop the proficiency of children in fundamental language and mathematical subjects under Nipun (National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy) Bharat, the officials added.
As part of this initiative, the training of block-level referrers will take place at the District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) level between October 25 and November 4 whereas the training of all primary school teachers and Shiksha Mitras will be held at the Block Resource Centers between November 6 and December 10.
It is noteworthy that voluntary organisations working in the field of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) will also be invited to participate in the training. Furthermore, opportunities will be given to principals and teachers who have achieved up to 80 per cent of the 'Nipun' target in their schools to share their experiences.
The Director General of School Education, Vijay Kiran Anand said that the training of teachers and block-level stakeholders is necessary to achieve the goals of the Nipun Bharat programme. Training for DIOS, BSA, and BEO, among others, has already been completed in this regard.
Following the same process, a training program has now been scheduled for all primary school teachers and Shiksha Mitras so that they can accelerate the campaign to make students skilful.
Regarding the training at the Block Resource Centres, each block will have five ARPs (Assistant Resource Persons), and all diet mentors will be involved. They will be given training by the referrers of CMAT Prayagraj.
The Director General has mentioned that each batch will include 50 teachers. If teachers are found absent, the BEO (Block Education Officer) will be held accountable for this.
The issued guidelines state that voluntary organisations working in the field of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) should also be invited to the district and development block-level training so that the benefit of their experience and expertise can be availed.
Similarly, in each batch, the identification of a headmaster/teacher who has actively brought about significant changes/innovations in areas such as a well-stocked library, children's learning proficiency, classroom teaching, Operation Kayakalp, SMC/community support, CSR funds, prayer assemblies, print-rich/TLM, etc., or who have achieved proficiency in more than 80 per cent of students in the school, should be done.
These headmasters/teachers should be given 10 minutes to share their success stories with all the teachers. They should also be honoured in the training. Moreover, the training of teachers will be monitored at both the state and district levels to ensure its effectiveness.
Payments related to teacher training conducted every year under the Nipun Bharat Mission will now be made to the accounts of all teachers through Direct Benefit Transfer. A total of Rs 2941 lakh has been allocated for all expenses under the training campaign.
At the DIET level, all referrers (ARP, KRP) will receive a sum of Rs 200 for meals/lunch while each participant will get Rs 50 for conducting the training. For those participating in block-level training, including all teachers, Shiksha Mmitras, and referrers, the rate will be Rs 170 per day. This amount will be sent to the teachers' accounts within 2 days of the completion of batch training by the District Project Office, said officials.
