Uttarakhand: Cabinet approves 12 proposals at first meeting after LS polls

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], June 22 : As many as 12 proposals were approved at the cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Secretariat, the first one after the Lok Sabha elections.
Proposals related to many departments, including urban development, housing, finance, revenue, personnel, planning and higher education, were taken up for discussion and then approved.
According to the Uttarakhand government, the important decisions taken by the Cabinet included the reorganization of the postal structure of the Electrical Safety Department under the Energy and Alternative Energy Department.
The cabinet meeting also approved the proposal regarding the promulgation of the Uttarakhand Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority Bill, 2024.
Additionally, the decision was taken by the Cabinet regarding the adoption of the rules of the Personnel Department regarding centralized and decentralized service in the ministerial class cadre in various authorities of the state under the Housing Department and appointment of the appointing authority.
The proposal regarding the professional training course of finance officers selected through direct recruitment under Uttarakhand Finance Service was also approved.
The decision to provide the facility of a corporate salary account package to the salary accounts of the employees of the state government was also taken by the Cabinet.
The proposal for amendment in Tourism Policy, 2018 as well as regarding the creation of outsourced posts for the operation of mobile units Food Safety on Wheels for testing food items under the Department of Medical Health and Medical Education was approved by the Cabinet.
Under Medical Health and Medical Education, the proposal regarding setting up of a Analysis Laboratory in Dehradun under Garhwal Mandal and the creation of related posts for the analysis laboratory was approved by the Cabinet.
The proposal to provide relaxation and exemption in the Procurement Rules, 2017 (as amended from time to time) for payment of the amount spent by the concerned firm/institution in organizing the regional conference organized on April 6-7 in Dehradun on the matters of family courts in collaboration with the Supreme Court and High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital, was approved by the Cabinet.
The proposal to amend Rule-80, 81, 415, 456, 470-A and 473 of Uttarakhand Cooperative Society (Amendment) Rules, 2004 and Rule-28 and 47 of Uttarakhand State Cooperative Society Election Rules, 2018 to eliminate nepotism in cooperative societies, making the election process of the management committees of cooperative societies more transparent and increasing the quality and efficiency of the work of the committee, as well as reserving 33 per cent of the posts for women on the post of member and chairperson of the management committee of cooperative societies of Uttarakhand state, was also approved by the Cabinet in the meeting.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved the policy decision to displace the families residing in the premises for the planned development of Mahasu Devta under the Master Plan in Dehradun.
The decision was also taken by the Cabinet to promulgate the Consolidation Rules-2024 on the Uttarakhand Medical Service Selection Board Ministerial Cadre posts and to make the service period of specialist doctors 65 years.
