Uttarakhand CM Dhami announces financial assistance of Rs 60 lakh for Inter College in Dharampur

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], October 6 : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday participated in a program organized by Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan at Govardhan Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Inter College, Dharampur and announced financial assistance of Rs 60 lakh for the college, said an official statement.
On this occasion, he honoured the students of Vidya Mandir who secured top 10 positions in the high school and intermediate examinations of Uttarakhand Board Examination 2024.
The Chief Minister said that since independence, the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan has been continuously working towards providing quality education as well as introducing the young generation to Indian values and educating them in accordance with Indian culture.
Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Vidya Mandir run by Vidya Bharati are continuously working to make the leaders of our country cultured in every corner of the country today. They are working towards making children not only bookish knowledge but also worthy citizens. Students are being made aware of patriotism, indigenous thinking, social harmony, environmental protection and contemporary important topics.
The Chief Minister said that more than 500 schools are being run by Vidya Bharati in Uttarakhand, in which more than 01 lakh students are receiving education in the state. Along with this, hundreds of schools have also been opened by Vidya Bharati in tribal dominated areas and border areas of the state.
The Chief Minister expressed happiness over the selection of seven schools of Vidya Bharati by the Government of India to be established as Sainik Schools.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is doing many works in various fields for the upliftment of students and youth. Keeping in mind the importance of education, the state government has taken a quick decision and implemented the National Education Policy-2020 in the state for the first time in the country. Policy decisions have been taken to make the education system of the state more modern, practical and strong.
A large number of smart classes are being established in the government schools of the state. Free textbooks are being provided to students from class 1 to 12 and bags and shoes are also being provided along with textbooks from class 1 to 8. Under the Mukhyamantri Medhavi Chhatra Protsahan Yojana, provision has also been made to provide monthly scholarships to thousands of meritorious students. Bicycles are also being provided to girls taking admission in class 9.
The state government has also decided to send 5-5 toppers of high school and intermediate from each development block of the state on a tour of India.
The Chief Minister said that continuous work is being done to strengthen the infrastructure of government colleges in higher education as well. 20 new model colleges are being established in the state. CM
An agreement has been signed for the Chevening Uttarakhand Scholarship to provide postgraduate studies to 5 students studying in government colleges and universities of the state in a reputed university in Britain every year. Springboard Infosys will also provide free IT-based training modules for teachers and free courses for students.
The Chief Minister said that in this year's budget, the state government has made a provision of more than 1700 crores for youth welfare, technical education and higher education. He said that our cabinet has decided to start the Center for Hindu Studies in Doon University.
