Uttarakhand CM Dhami extends greetings to people on Valmiki Jayanti

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], October 17 : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended his wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti on Thursday.
Valmiki Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki, who is credited with writing the epic Ramayana during the lifetime of Lord Ram.
CM Dhami said that Valmiki's life and works inspire the people to follow the path of truth, love and duty.
"Maharishi Valmiki was a Mahatma who achieved the pinnacle of religion from the grassroots level. He presented a depiction of an ideal society by composing a timeless text like the Adi Kavya Ramayana," Dhami said.
"On the birth anniversary of Adi Kavi Maharishi Valmiki ji, who gave the priceless gift of the sacred epic Ramayana to the whole world by writing the ideal character of Lord Shri Ram, I bow down to his feet. The timeless creation written by you will continue to guide the entire humanity till eternity," the Chief Minister posted on X.
The Chief Minister said that Maharishi Valmiki gave the message of social harmony and equality.
"The teachings of moral values like harmony and humanity given by him are more relevant today than ever before. His thoughts and ideals will continue to inspire us to establish an egalitarian society. We all have to take a pledge to adopt the great vision of Maharishi Valmiki and the teachings given by him in our practical lives. This will be the expression of our true reverence and respect for him," Dhami said.
Valmiki Jayanti is a Hindu festival celebrated in honour of the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki, the great sage who authored the epic Ramayana. He is recognised as the writer of the oldest version of the Ramayana, which narrates the life of Lord Ram. His profound contributions to literature and spirituality have made him a revered figure, earning him the title Adi Kavi, or the first poet of Sanskrit.
