Uttarakhand CM Dhami pays tribute to Rampur Tiraha firing martyrs

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], October 1 : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the formation of the state of Uttarakhand by remembering them.
In his message issued on the eve of the anniversary of the Muzaffarnagar incident (Rampur Tiraha firing case), the Chief Minister said that the sacrifice of the martyrs of the state movement will always be remembered.
The Chief Minister said, "Uttarakhand became a separate state as a result of the sacrifice and struggle of the state agitators and government is continuously working for the development of the state following the dreams of the state agitators."
"To make this decade the decade of Uttarakhand, the state government is working rapidly in every field. To make the state of Uttarakhand the ideal state of the country, we all have to work together so that the all-round development of the state can be done following the dreams of the martyrs of the state movement," he added.
On 28 August 2000, then President of India, K R Narayanan, approved the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Bill and then it turned into an Act on 9 November 2000, the new state Uttaranchal came into existence as the 27th state of India now known as Uttarakhand.
Earlier on Tuesday, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tributes to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on the eve of their birth anniversaries.
In his message issued on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, the Chief Minister said, Gandhiji played an important role in liberating the country from British rule.
"Mahatma Gandhi fought for India's independence and equality," CM Dhami said.
He stressed the importance of education and social reform. He said that Gandhi Jayanti allows us to draw inspiration from his philosophy of life.
The Uttarakhand CM also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on the occasion of his birth anniversary. In his message on the eve of Shastri ji's birth anniversary, the Chief Minister said that by giving the slogan 'Jai Jawan Jai Kisan', he showed the nation the way to stand firmly with self-respect and unity.
