Uttarakhand CM distributes 167 appointment letters to Anganwadi workers on 'Durga Ashtami'

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], October 22 : On the occasion of 'Durga Ashtami', Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed appointment letters to 167 selected Anganwadi and Mini Anganwadi workers.
It is the first time the department formed an online merit list on the basis of the applications received for the supervisor posts online to keep the whole selection process completely transparent.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed appointment letters while participating in the program organized at Chief Sevak Sadan, Chief Minister's residence, Dehradun.
On this occasion, he also launched the online portal of Nanda Gaura Yojana and Chief Minister Mahalaxmi Kit Yojana, said an official statement from the Uttarakhand government on Sunday.
CM Dhami said that on the day of Durga Ashtami, 167 Anganwadi and Mini Anganwadi mothers and sisters are getting the privilege of being provided appointment letters to the post of supervisor.
He said that Anganwadi workers have an important role in society and in the upbringing of children, they nurture children like Mother Yashoda.
"The state government is fully committed to strengthening the status of Anganwadi centres and has increased the honorarium of Anganwadi, Mini Anganwadi workers and helpers to empower them," he said.
Chief Minister Dhami said that against the total 299 posts earmarked for supervisors by selection from the post of Anganwadi, appointments are being given on 167 vacant posts.
Also, the honorarium of all Anganwadi workers is being paid online directly into their bank accounts from the state level, amounting to about Rs 24 crore per month. He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, an amount of Rs 9.35 crore has been released to 23895 women in their bank accounts.
Dhami further added that that with the inauguration of the portal for monitoring of Mahalakshmi Kit Scheme today, necessary clothes and kit materials will be easily available to about 50 thousand lactating women and newborn babies in the state every year.
With the inauguration of the portal of Nandagaura Yojana, an online facility will be available to about 50 thousand girls every year to apply for Rs 11 thousand on birth and Rs 51 thousand on passing class 12.
"This will be an important step for the state government towards digital Uttarakhand," said Dhami.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given approval to Uttarakhand for the construction of 3,940 Anganwadi buildings and an amount of Rs 12 lakh has been earmarked for each Anganwadi centre - including MNREGA, Central and State's share. In this way, a total amount of Rs 472 crore will be spent to provide convenient Anganwadi centres for women and children.
The government led by the Prime Minister has worked to empower women in every field.
"Today, from financial inclusion to social security, quality healthcare to housing, education to entrepreneurship, women are leading the society," said Dhami.
Women and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, historic work has been done in the interest of Anganwadi workers in the state.
"Everyone's honorarium has been increased. Today the morale of women has increased in the state. Many policies have been implemented in the state for the welfare of women and to make them self-reliant. The state government is always ready for the development and welfare of women," said Arya.
