Uttarakhand CM launches the 'Car Garbage Eco-Friendly Bag' to promote cleanliness

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], September 27, : The Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday launched the Car Garbage Eco-Friendly Bag Distribution Campaign under "Swachhata Hi Seva" on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The Chief Minister said that under "Swachhata Abhiyan" the campaign is launched with the mission to create the awareness towards cleanliness.
He praised the campaign and said that this would create awareness among the people. He further said that people often litter the wrappers of food items, plastic waste etc. on the road while driving the car and are less likely to take initiative in achieving cleanliness around their surroundings.
He said that by keeping garbage bags in the car and collecting garbage, people will get a good habit of putting it in the dustbin only.
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, progressive work is being rapidly in every field to transform the state at the best level. He said a possible effort is being made by the state government to make this decade the decade of Uttarakhand. Work is also being done in the field of cleanliness to make Uttarakhand an ideal state.
"Today Uttarakhand is in the category of leading states in many areas. The state has secured the first position in the ranking of Sustainable Development Goals released by Niti Aayog. The unemployment rate in the state has decreased by 4.4 per cent," he said.
CM Dhami said that to promote tourism, it is necessary to pay special attention to cleanliness. Tourism is a strong base for promoting the economy of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand has a distinct identity in the country and the world as a tourism state.
Earlier on Thursday, The Chief Minister had appealed to the people of the state to participate in spreading the importance of World Tourism Day to the people while maintaining the glorious tradition of welcoming and hospitality to the tourists coming to the state and preserving historical monuments.
