Uttarakhand DGP inspects Bhadrakali check post, directs to maintain traffic system

Garhwal (Uttarakhand) [India], May 18 : Abhinav Kumar, Director General of Police (DGP), Uttarakhand, conducted a surprise inspection of the Bhadrakali check post during his visit to Garhwal today. During this, he inspected the Gangotri Yamunotri Yatri Registration Check Center and Tourist Police Assistance Center and took feedback on travel arrangements from the officers present.
He instructed the officers to maintain the traffic system. He also stressed that the convenience of the devotees should be taken care of and all necessary steps should be taken so that they do not face any problems.
After that, the DGP reached Srinagar and held a seminar with the police officers of the district to ensure the safe completion of the Chardham Yatra at the Women's Police Station in Srinagar.
He instructed the district in-charges of Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag and Chamoli to coordinate among themselves and inform the concerned senior/Superintendent of Police about the number of devotees/passengers and vehicles departing/arriving from their respective districts for the Dhams through telephone, WhatsApp etc. in time and implement the traffic plan accordingly.
Describing Srinagar as a central point of the Chardham Yatra, Abhinav Kumar said, "Due to the high traffic pressure of Shri Kedarnath and Shri Badrinath, vehicles are being stopped in Srinagar. To make the traffic system smooth, all the personnel should work promptly and honestly and politely with the passengers."
He added, "If any personnel misbehaves, strict action will be taken against them."
Abhinav Kumar also instructed the district in-charge to ensure smooth operation of the traffic system by appointing police and traffic police personnel as per the need on the travel routes and ensure action by coordinating with the officials of the concerned department to provide basic facilities like water, toilets etc. at the parking lot where the vehicles of the passengers/devotees coming for the Chardham Yatra are being stopped.
Kumar also instructed the officials to keep the passengers informed by using means like the PA system, loud hailers and social sites when vehicles are stopped or diverted on the Yatra route.
The DGP said that full care should be taken to ensure that local citizens and pilgrims do not face any kind of problems and the DGP also directed the officers to take action against those who spread false propaganda about Devbhoomi on social media or other platforms.
