"Vikas Padyatra" to be held tomorrow at Statue of Unity, global tourist destination

Narmada (Gujarat) [India], October 14 : As part of celebrating 23 years of good governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, "Development Week" is being celebrated across the state, including the Narmada district.
As part of the success of the development journey of 23 years of public life of the Prime Minister, it has been decided to hold a padayatra at 23 iconic places. Under which a development walk will be held on October 15, Tuesday at 9:00 am at the Statue of Unity, a global tourist destination in the Narmada district, a press statement said.
In this Vikas Padayatra, which will be held under the leadership of the Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Department of Gujarat Government and Narmada District In-charge Minister Bhikhusinhji Parmar, implementation officers of various departments of the district, office bearers, employees, elected public representatives, school teachers, Anganwadi-Asha worker sisters of ICDS, midday meal managers, fair prize shop holders, SRP-Police personnel, NCC-Home Guard personnel, SOU staff including District-Taluka citizens will participate actively in a large number.
Narendra Modi took over as Chief Minister of Gujarat for the first time on October 7, 2001.
Several welfare programmes launched by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre draw inspiration from Narendra Modi's initiatives as Gujarat Chief Minister.
Gujarat government is observing 'Vikas Saptah' from October 7 to mark the development journey of the state after Narendra Modi took over as CM. Narendra Modi first took oath as Prime Minister on May 26, 2014. He is into his third successive term as Prime Minister.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier congratulated PM Modi for completing 23 years as head of government and said his long journey is an inspiration for those who are in public life.
