Mussoorie (Uttarakhand) [India], April 15 : Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during a public rally in Mussoorie, reiterated on the state's implementation of Uniform Civil Code, which had been promised during the 2022 Assembly elections. The CM also talked about the action taken on land jihad and religious conversions.
Addressing a public meeting in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand CM said, "In BJP's 'Sankalp Patra', the UCC has been promised, in the 2022 Uttarakhand elections, we made the promise that the first decision after forming the government would be to bring the UCC bill, and we have done that. The 'Gangotri' that begins from Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand, is now going to the entire country."
Pushkar Singh Dhami also hailed the several actions and decisions that were taken to make Uttarakhand a better state. During the rally, the CM talked about the government's efforts on land jihad and religious conversions.
"We took action on land jihad. You all know the kind of encroachment... Till now, we have freed more than 4000 acres of land from encroachment... We made laws against religious conversion. We have made sure that Uttarakhand doesn't lose its original form," he said.
Appealing to the public to vote for BJP, the CM also asked the voters to contribute their part to fulfill the resolution of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Uttarakhand.
"We all have to give our contribution to fulfill the resolution of Viksit Bharat, Viksit Uttarakhand... We have to support the slogan of 'Abki Baar, 400 Paar,'" said Dhami.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts, he claimed that India is reaching new heights. "Today, under the leadership of PM Modi, India is reaching the heights of development. Along with modern India, under the leadership of PM Modi, we are establishing a self-reliant India... He didn't rest for a moment in the last 10 years and dedicated himself to the development of the nation."
Expressing his views on the BJP's Sankalp Patra, the CM also said that the manifesto keeps in mind the welfare and development of everyone. "The Sankalp Patra talks about the welfare and development of everyone... Women, poor, farmers, and youth along with taking the resolution of a developed India."
Slamming the Congress party, the CM said that on one side, there is a double-engine government working for development, and on the other side, there is a corrupt government.
"This time, two ideologies are at war. PM Modi says that we have to end corruption, and appeasement, and they say that 'Modi ji ko hatana hai, Bhrashtachar ko badhana hai," said CM Dhami.
He also attacked the party on issues of corruption and claimed that it is the Congress party that is behind every scam and alleged that all corrupt people are making alliances. "Before 2014, there would not have been a single day on which some scams didn't happen. Behind every scam, only Congress used to be behind it. But now, under the leadership of PM Modi, when he is taking action on corruption, they are all making alliances. Every corrupt person is making alliances and wants to form a government by spreading confusion and lies."
The Lok Sabha elections for all five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand are scheduled to take place in a single phase on April 19 and to increase voter turnout in the hill state, more than 11,000 polling booths are being set up across the state.
