Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 4 : BJP Rajya Sabha member Sangeeta Balwant on Sunday met the family of the 12-year-old girl who was allegedly raped. Samajwadi Party leader Moeed Khan is the main accused in the gang rape of a minor girl.
Speaking to ANI, Balwant said that we understand the pain of the mother and CM Yogi Adityanath has taken action against the accused.
"I have met the victim's mother. We understand her pain and we also understand what situation the child is going through. The CM has taken action against the accused and I assure the family that justice will be done. We have assured the family that she should not be afraid and strict action will be taken," said Balwant.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla accused Akhilesh Yadav and said that he used to talk a lot about PDA but now, after the rape, he is silent.
"Akhilesh Yadav is now silent and used to talk a lot about PDA (Picchda, Dalit, and Alpsankhyak). But today, when such an atrocity happened with a 12-year-old girl from PDA, he was silent. He demanded a DNA test. Isn't he trying to give a clean chit to the accused? The goons of the Samajwadi Party went to the hospital to threaten the family of the victim," he said.
Further, Poonawalla said, "We want to ask what investigation has been done against the accused? It is very clear that the Samajwadi Party is trying to keep the people quiet. Dimple Yadav is also silent on the matter. PDA has been sidelined in front of the vote bank. The Samajwadi Party has made a thing to keep quiet on the injustice against women."

BJP member Baburam Nishad also met the victim's family in Ayodhya and said, "We spoke to the victim's mother and we will submit the entire report to the national leadership. Our Uttar Pradesh government is not going to spare the accused who committed this crime. Akhilesh Yadav talks about DNA testing. He talks about PDA but he cannot see or hear the pain of this daughter. We will make sure the people who have committed such crimes in the past will be punished. The government will take such action against them that many generations will remember it. I request CM Yogi Adityanath to increase the financial amount of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh and give it to the victim's family."

Additionally, JD (U) spokesperson KC Tyagi said that a FIR has been registered against the leaders of the Samajwadi Party and they have been arrested.
Speaking to ANI, he said, "An FIR has been registered against the Samajwadi Party leaders and they have been arrested and are being interrogated. Akhilesh Yadav is related to Mulayam Singh Yadav and everybody knows about Akhilesh Yadav's sentiments. He should not try to save anybody until the probe is completed."
The Ayodhya district administration on Saturday demolished the "illegally constructed" bakery of Moeed Khan.
Moeed Khan and his house help were accused of raping and blackmailing a 12-year-old girl who worked as a daily wage employee at Khan's home in Ayodhya.
