Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], February 27 : Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President Jagan Mohan Rao has shared insights into the preparations underway at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.
With Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) set to begin training on March 2, the association is working diligently to ensure a top-tier experience for players and fans alike.
Speaking about the ongoing renovations, Rao told ANI, "We are hosting nine matches this season, and to enhance the experience for spectators, we are upgrading several facilities. Last year, our stadium received the 'Best Pitch and Ground' award, and this time, we want to offer an even better experience. We are renovating washrooms and corporate boxes, repainting the stadium, and making all necessary improvements. The work will be completed in the next 15 days, ensuring the stadium is ready by March 15."
He also highlighted the cooperation from the police and the SRH management.
"The Sunrisers Hyderabad team will arrive on March 2, and they have been very supportive throughout the process. The police department is also cooperating well, ensuring a smooth execution of our plans," he added.
Expressing his aspirations for Hyderabad's role in future IPL seasons, Rao mentioned his disappointment at missing out on hosting the opening and closing ceremonies this year. However, he remains optimistic about Sunrisers Hyderabad's chances in IPL 2025.
"I had hoped we would host the opening and closing ceremonies, but unfortunately, we missed out. This time, I truly wish SRH wins the IPL so that Hyderabad can host the opening match next year," he said.
With meticulous planning and extensive renovations, the Hyderabad Cricket Association aims to provide fans with an unparalleled experience as IPL 2025 approaches.
