West Bengal: BSF arrests smuggler with 40 kg Ganja, 150 bottles of prohibited cough syrup in Cooch Behar

Cooch Behar (West Bengal) [India], August 28 : The Border Security Force (BSF) troops foiled a major smuggling attempt at the Indo-Bangladesh International Border by arresting an Indian smuggler along with the seizure of 40 kilograms of Ganja in West Bengal's Cooch Behar.
Acting on reliable intelligence, vigilant BSF troops apprehended an Indian smuggler along with a large consignment of narcotics, intended for smuggling into Bangladesh.
In a swift and well-coordinated operation, the alert troops of the 157 Battalion BSF conducted a special search operation in the bordering area of District Cooch Behar, West Bengal.
The operation led to the apprehension of one Indian smuggler along with the seizure of 40 kilograms of Ganja and 150 bottles of prohibited cough syrup, which were meant for smuggling from India to Bangladesh.
In other operations, based on reliable inputs, the vigilant BSF troops foiled multiple smuggling attempts, seizing a total of 602 bottles of prohibited cough syrup and rescuing 8 cattle heads from smugglers who were attempting to traffic them across the international border into Bangladesh.
The apprehended smuggler and the seized contraband have been handed over to the local police for further legal action.
