Apr 07, 2024

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], April 7 : TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu said that he will always stand by the poor and their upliftment will be taken care of by the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance if they come to power in the state.
He said this while addressing Praja Galam public meeting at the Pamarru assembly constituency on Sunday.
Chandrababu Naidu said, "NT Rama Rao, who was born in Nimmakuru, is an inspiration to the world. It has been 35 years since he passed away. But nobody can forget him. It is because of his effort to eradicate poverty and bring social justice that he worked day and night. My aim is to see a state with no poverty. NT Rama Rao also envisioned the same goal. I will always stand by the poor and their upliftment will be taken care of by the alliance."
Naidu further said that Pingali Venkayya, who designed the national flag, was born in this region. This is the greatness of this region. Singers like Ghantasala, Malladi Ramakrishna Sastry, Veturi Sundararama Murthy and actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao among others, were born here.
He further said, "Unfortunately, Ganja crops are being grown here and corrupting this holy soil. The YSRCP is giving ministerial posts to the leaders who abuse us more and promotions to those who attack the TDP. People want development, welfare and a great future here."
The Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled for May 13, with vote counting set for June 4.
Notably, the Andhra Pradesh Assembly consists of 175 seats and a party would need at least 88 seats to form a government.
In the 2019 Assembly elections, the YSRCP won with a thumping majority of 151 seats, while the TDP was confined to 23 seats.
In the 2014 Assembly elections, the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP won with a majority of 102 seats. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP won 67 seats. The BJP could only win four seats by contesting against the two regional heavyweights.
The election for 543 Lok Sabha seats in the country will be held in seven phases starting April 19. The counting of votes for the Lok Sabha as well as the assemblies will take place on June 4.
