"Will discuss rollout and development of TB vaccine," says Union MoS Anupriya Patel ahead on UNGA meetings

New York [US], September 24 : Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel is visiting the Unites States s a representative of India at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Among her various engagements, the Minister will present India's view at the Stop TB partnership meeting of the UN.
"There are 4 high-level meetings during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in which I have the privilege of representing India. In the 'Stop TB Partnership' meeting, we will discuss the development of the TB vaccine and its practical rollout. I have to represent India in that program as well, put forward India's point of view," Anupriya Patel said while speaking to ANI in New York
"Along with this, there is also a session on 'Ending AIDS, Revitalizing Multilateralism', how we can come together to achieve the goal of eliminating AIDS from the world, in which I will participate... There is also a special session on anti-microbial resistance, a high-level meeting in which I will represent India... In total, there are 4 such high-level meetings on 4 different topics, on TB vaccine, on elimination of AIDS, on Joint Finance Health Task Force and anti-microbial resistance," the Minister added.
Speaking about India's rapid economic growth under the leadership Prime Minister Modi's governance she said that India is now one of the most attractive investment destinations.
"Because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today 140 crore Indians have got this good fortune that today the whole world listens to India. The way the Prime Minister has increased India's reputation and credibility on the international platform is a matter of great pride for all of us... He talked about a progressive, unstoppable, spiritually committed to humanity and prosperous India and also said that in the third term, India will move forward by working at three times the speed... Today India has become one of the most attractive destinations for investment at the global level," Anupriya Patel told ANI.
Anupriya Patel also slammed opposition parties for making insulting remarks in foreign lands, saying "Our opposition leaders, especially Rahul Gandhi, need to understand that as the leader of the opposition, his role is to criticise the government, but this role should be within the country. When he goes abroad, he should only say things that increase the respect of our country. In my opinion, making statements against India's democracy or India is extremely condemnable and unfortunate."
The Stop TB Partnership is a hosted entity of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), with its Secretariat based in Geneva, Switzerland. Established in 2000, the Partnership aligns 1,600 partner organizations (including international and technical organizations, government programmes, research and funding agencies, foundations, NGOs, civil society and community groups, and the private sector) all over the world, leading global advocacy to end tuberculosis.
