"Will not join Cong, BRS": Suspended BJP MLA T Raja Singh

Aug 29, 2023

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], August 29 : The suspended Bharatiya Janata Party leader T Raja Singh on Tuesday said that he will either remain in BJP or leave politics but will never jump ship to Congress or the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi in Telangana.
T Raja, who represents Goshamahal constituency, was speaking to reporters.
"Even if I am alive or dead, I will not join Congress or BRS parties. I am a Hinduwadi. I will be either in BJP or will stay away from politics and work for Hindu Rashtra," he said.
Raja Singh seemed confident that the BJP would revoke his suspension soon, and he would contest the Telangana Assembly polls from the Goshamahal constituency on the BJP ticket.
"Everything will be fine soon, the Centre and the state BJP leaders are with me. Waiting for the right time, I will take the ticket and win." said Raja Singh.
The MLA was suspended after a row that was triggered by his remarks against Prophet Muhammad. Raja Singh replied to the show-cause issued by the BJP but the party has not taken a call on revoking his suspension so far.
The Telangana Assembly polls are scheduled at the end of this year. The ruling BRS has released the first list of 115 candidates for the assembly elections.
The state is going to witness a three-pronged contest among the BJP, the BRS and the Congress. The Telangana election will serve as a litmus test for the BJP-led NDA and the INDIA alliance before the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The Congress and the BRS are at loggerheads with each other in Telangana since the latter refused to join the Congress-led INDIA alliance. This led to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge attacking KCR and accusing the BRS chief of forming an "internal friendship" with the BJP at a public meeting in Rangareddy on Saturday.
