"Will raise issues of infrastructure, medical facilities in Moradabad": Samajwadi Party MP Ruchi Vira

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 8 : Samajwadi Party MP from Moradabad, Ruchi Vira, on Saturday expressed her gratitude to party chief Akhilesh Yadav and the INDIA bloc and said that she will work for the people of the constituency by raising issues of infrastructure and medical facilities.
Speaking with ANI, Ruchi Vira said, "I would like to thank Akhilesh Yadav, INDIA bloc and the people of Moradabad... I have always worked for the welfare of women. And I have also been associated with education."
She further added, "Despite Moradabad being declared a smart city by BJP, there are still many issues including roads, railway crossings, flyovers, traffic jams, medical facilities, and we will raise them. As problems will come to light, we will work on raising them."
Ruchi Vira had defeated BJP's Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar by a margin of 105762 votes. Vira had secured 637363 votes while Kumar had garnered 531601 votes.
The counting of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections was held on Tuesday. According to the Election Commission of India, the Samajwadi Party (SP) won 37 seats, the BJP won 33, Congress won 6, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) won 2, and Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) and Apna Dal (Soneylal) won 1 seat each in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.
In a major setback to the BJP, it gained only 33 seats against 63 in the 2019 LS polls, with the vote share being 41.37 per cent. Some of the most-watched seats which the BJP lost include -- Faizabad, Amethi, and Raebareli.
The Samajwadi Party, on the other hand, secured 37 seats by itself, thus witnessing a massive improvement in the state. The vote share of the SP stood at 33.59 per cent.
The BJP victory tally was much lower than its 2019 tally of 303 and the 282 seats it had won in 2014. The Congress, on the other hand, registered a strong growth, winning 99 seats compared to 52 that it had won in 2019 and 44 seats in 2014.
In the meantime, Narendra Modi is all set to take the oath as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term tomorrow. The mega event will see the presence of dignitaries from across the world.
Security has been tightened in the national capital ahead of the mega event.The security measures follow the formal appointment of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister by the President of India on Friday.
The letters of support from NDA constituent parties were also given to the President.
According to the Election Commission of India, the BJP won 240 seats, much lower than its 2019 tally of 303.
The Congress, on the other hand, registered a strong improvement, winning 99 seats. While the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance won 292 seats, the INDIA bloc crossed the 230 mark, posing stiff competition, and defying all predictions.
