"Will work to fulfil manifesto given by BJP": Union Minister Harsh Malhotra

New Delhi [India], June 10 : A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office for the third consecutive term, Union Minister Harsh Malhotra said on Monday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has a huge responsibility and that the party will work to fulfil promises slated in its manifesto.
Speaking to ANI here on Monday, Malhotra said, "We have got a huge responsibility. We will work to fulfil the manifesto given by the BJP. NDA contested the elections and we had said that the NDA government would be formed and it has happened."
PM-designate Narendra Modi took the oath as Prime Minister of India for his third successive term at an impressive ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday.
President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to Narendra Modi, followed by other members of his team of ministers.
Apart from two terms as Prime Minister beginning in 2014, Narendra Modi also has the distinction of being the longest-serving Chief Minister of Gujarat, with his term spanning from October 2001 to May 2014.
Union Minister Malhotra also reacted to the recent Reasi terror attack that took place on Sunday and said, "It is unfortunate. The Lieutenant Governor has also said that the culprits will be given severe punishment and work is underway in this direction."
The terror attack took place in J-K's Reasi district on Sunday after a vehicle fell into a deep gorge after terrorists opened fire, killing at least nine people and leaving over 30 injured.
The Jammu and Kashmir police said on Monday that at least two terrorists were involved in the attack.
"As per eyewitnesses, two (terrorists) were there as of now. A combing operation is underway in the area. Five teams have been formed to search in the area," Reasi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohita Sharma told ANI.
The SSP further said that five teams have been formed to conduct the search operation in the dense forest area in and around the incident spot.
