Yashasvini campaign and composite awareness workshop held in Guwahati

Guwahati (Assam) [India], October 4 : A programme on Yashasvini Campaign and Composite Awareness Workshop was organised under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) on Friday in Guwahati.
The program was organised under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme in Assam.
The programme was started with the lighting of lamp by the dignitaries and the welcome address was given by Joint Secretary of SME, Mercy Epao. She explained how the programme will help people wishing to start business. Then, a film on Yashasvini was also shown in the programme.
Addressing the meeting, the Union Minister of State, MSME, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, said that the government is aiming to make the women "Lakhpati Didi".
She further explained the importance of being included into some facilities like ESI Card, Ayushman Card etc. The Minister also suggested the women entrepreneur's different initiatives to be taken to make their business a brand.
Senior politician and ex-MP Queen Oja highlighted that the women of Assam are progressing in various feilds. Government is taking different steps for their upliftment. She is also advocating the idea of Vocal for Local.
In the meeting, Secretary of Industries, Govt of Assam, Lakshman S said that the purpose of Yashasvini campaign is to provide maximum support and guidance to women entrepreneurs. He then explained different initiatives of the Assam government in this regard.
The senior officer, in his remarks, maintained that the registration of Udyam has been increasing for the last 2.5 years.
He then discussed the Assam Credit Guarantee Scheme and so on.
CEO of Credit Guarantee Trust for Micro and Small Enterprise (CGTMSE) Manish Sinha said that MSME is the engine of growth. It contributes in the country's GDP, Export as well as in Employment generation. He then said the importance of Credit Guarantee Scheme in the MSME sector.
Noteworthy that in today's programme different initiatives on MSME sector like GeM, TEAM, TReDS, ZED etc. was discussed.
The programme also initiated awareness session on on credit, training & financial literacy and on online dispute resolution. In the programme the certificates were also provided to the PMV artisans and successful PMEGP entrepreneurs.
The programme was attended by senior Officials of both central and state government, women entrepreneurs across the state and other respected dignitaries.
