Yoga inspires the world to walk on path of peace: Piyush Goyal

New Delhi [India], June 21 : Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts to promote Yoga internationally and said the ancient Indian practice transforms lives.
"Due to the efforts of the PM, the UN announced International Yoga Day on June 21. There is increased awareness across the world today. It has come to notice that preventive care is the way forward. Yoga transforms people's lives," said Union Minister Goyal.
He urged youth to practice yoga to stay healthy.
"On the occasion of International Yoga Day, PM Modi is sending a message by practising Yoga in Srinagar...The entire nation is practising Yoga...Yoga inspires the world to walk on the path of peace...I want to thank PM Modi for giving out the message of Yoga for self and society."
Earlier in the day, Piyush Goyal took part in a Yoga session in Mumbai.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also hailed PM Modi and said he made Yoga reach the entire world. "Yoga lovers are doing yoga in the entire world and bringing a positive change to their lives and society. India is lucky that India's Yoga is famous all over the world now..."
Vaishnaw took part in a Yoga session in the national capital.
PM Modi led the celebrations of the 10th International Day of Yoga at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar today.
This year's theme, "Yoga for Self and Society," emphasizes yoga's vital role in fostering both individual well-being and societal harmony.
Since 2015, the Prime Minister has led the International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations at various iconic locations, including Kartavya Path in Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, Lucknow, Mysuru and even the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
