Yogi govt organizes 'Sankalp Saptah Mela' in 68 blocks of Uttar Pradesh

Luckow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 4 : In an attempt to give impetus to government schemes in aspirational development blocks, the Yogi government kicked off a unique week-long initiative, 'Sankalp Saptah' in 68 blocks of 42 districts of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, an official statement said.
The 'Sankalp Saptah Mela' has seen widespread public participation.
According to available information, the fairs (mela) were organized in all designated 68 blocks at 100 per cent Health Wellness Centers (HWCs) and Sub-Centers (SCs) on Tuesday, with around 99 per cent of people attending each centre.
Additionally, an average of 202 people attended the fairs in 99 per cent of the PHCs and CHCs in these blocks.

It is noteworthy that mega-health camps were conducted in all the government health centres, medical units and health wellness centres of the aspirational blocks selected by NITI Aayog on the opening day of Sankalp Saptah Mela.
These camps included prenatal check-ups for pregnant women, identification of high-risk pregnancies, and vaccinations.
Additionally, screening for non-communicable diseases, anaemia tests, tuberculosis screening, honouring of Nikshay Mitras, and the recognition of TB champions were also carried out.
Around 2.20 lakh people benefited from Sankalp Saptah Mela on the first day.
A total of 1,59,458 people participated in the fairs organized at 1605 Health Wellness Centers (HWC) and Sub Centers (SC) in 68 blocks of 42 districts whereas as many as 59,255 benefitted from the fairs held at 294 PHCs and CHCs on day one of the event.
Thus, nearly 2.20 lakh people benefitted from the health fairs held at HWCs/SCs and PHCs/CHCs. The highest number of 43 HWCs and SCs were organized in Pilibhit's Puranpur block, with the participation of 6626 people. Similarly, in the top 10 PHCs and CHCs of this block's organized fairs, 2989 people received health check-ups and treatments.
Sankalp Saptah has a different theme every day.
'Sankalp Saptah' will run till October 9 and each day of the weeklong event will have a different theme, dedicated to the country.
Themes include Prosperity Day, cleanliness, education, health, agriculture, well-nourished families. Officials at the Panchayat and Block levels will work on improving essential services related to citizens' lives under these themes.

Moreover, the last day of this week on October 10 will be celebrated as the 'Sankalp Saptah Inclusion Ceremony'. On this day, an evaluation will be conducted to see what activities have been carried out for citizens in which block and under which theme and whether they have benefited from them or not.
It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 'Sankalp Saptah' program on September 30 at the Bharat Mandap in Delhi's Pragati Maidan, which is set to run for a week in aspiring blocks across the country.
The main goal of this program is to improve citizens' lives by reforming the block-level administration.
