Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India] September 25 : Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Wednesday hit out at Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accusing him of 'cheating' the farmers women and youth of the state.
Lashing out at the Hemant Soren government, Sanjay Seth said that a change is needed in the state.
"A change is needed because you (Hemant Soren) looted the land of the army, change because you cheated the farmers, women, and youth of the state in the name of giving them jobs, and other benefits, this is why change is needed," Seth said.
Seth further accused CM Soren of 'corruption' and exuded confidence in BJP's victory in the upcoming polls in Jharkhand.
"Your government is into corruption and several leaders of your party are in jail. Therefore, we all need a change here for the development of the state and BJP will bring all these changes," he said
Meanwhile, former Union Minister and BJP leader Arjun Munda said that the JMM government has 'disappointed' the people of Jharkhand.
"The government has disappointed the people of Jharkhand for the purpose with which they gave a chance to the Hemant Soren government. The work of suppressing those rights of the people has been done from which the people had expected to benefit. Through this Parivartan Yatra, we are giving the message that the youth have been cheated, women have been cheated and the citizens here have been cheated," Munda said.
The term of the Jharkhand State Assembly is set to expire on January 5, 2025, with elections scheduled for 81 constituencies (44 General, 9 SC, 28 ST) across the state.
Jharkhand is set to go to polls for its 81-member legislative assembly later this year. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is yet to announce the dates.
