3-day-long ‘Aalaav’ food festival organised in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sept 24 (ANI): Three-day-long food festival ‘Aalaav’ was organised in Srinagar. The food festival was started by Department of National Rural Livelihood Mission, Jammu and Kashmir. It was organised in collaboration with other departments. The purpose of the festival was to celebrate traditional food and novel nutritional formulations. Many women self-help groups from all the districts of J&K took part in the festival. They prepared the traditional vegetable dishes of J&K and displayed it through the stalls during the festival. These women were helped by the department under the UMEED scheme. This department also made women aware about government schemes, under which they can get financial assistance to set up their own business.
