5 arrested in Loni incident: UP Police

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), June 17: So far, five accused have been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Loni incident, where a man was thrashed and his beard was chopped off, informed Rural SP of Ghaziabad, Iraj Raja on June 16. SP Iraj Raja also informed that the police will also take action against the complainant for providing some wrong facts. “Total 5 accused have been arrested till now (in Loni incident where a man was thrashed and his beard chopped off). We will take strong action against them,” Raja told ANI. “We'll also take action (against complainant) for providing some wrong facts”, he added. Recently, a video went viral on social media where six people could be seen trashing an elderly man. The assailants also chopped off the victims' beard and it was reported that the victim was made to chant slogans like “Jai Shree Ram” and “Vande Mataram”.
