9th National Snowshoe Championship 2025 showcases Kashmir's Winter Sports potential

Sonamarg (J&K), Feb 19 (ANI): The 9th National Snowshoe Championship 2025 organised at the picturesque Sonamarg in Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir. This exciting event, kicked off from February 16 to 19, drew significant attention to the region's potential as a winter sports hub. It was organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Snowshoe Association in collaboration with Department of Tourism and under the guidance of the SnowShoe Federation of India. The event aimed to elevate Sonamarg’s status as a premier winter sport destination, showcasing its beautiful snowy landscapes and offering a platform for athletes from across the country to compete. The competition promised a thrilling display of skill and endurance with around 110 athletes from approximately 15 to 17 states and union territories. 9th National Snowshoe Championship expected to be an annual fixture, promoting not only Sonamarg but also the broader Kashmir region as a year-round destination for adventure sports.
