Ahead of Joe Biden’s visit to New Delhi for G20 Summit, First Lady Jill Biden tests COVID positive

New Delhi, September 5 (ANI): Ahead of US Prez Joe Biden’s visit to India for G20 Summit, First Lady Jill Biden tested positive for COVID-19. However, Prez Biden was administered a COVID test and tested negative, The White House informed. US President Joe Biden will test at a regular cadence this week and monitor for COVID symptoms. Earlier, Biden's 72-year-old wife, whose symptoms were described as mild, had COVID in August 2022. Biden's official week-ahead schedule showed him travelling to New Delhi on Sept 07 to attend the G20 Summit. This schedule was released shortly after the announcement of the First Lady Jill Biden's diagnosis. On September 4, Joe Biden also said that he was “disappointed” by reports of Jinping skipping the meet. Russian Prez Vladimir Putin has confirmed that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will represent the country at G20 Summit. New Delhi is ready to host the leaders of G20 nations on September 09-10. India holds the Presidency of the G20 from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023. The G20 members represent around 85 per cent of the global GDP. It also represents over 75 per cent of the global trade and about two-thirds of the world’s population.
