All parties are corrupt and exploitative, alleges Kashmiri leader in run-up to PoK elections
Jul 12, 2021
PoK, 12 July 2021: - As the run-up to the assembly elections in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) picks momentum, a local leader has labeled serious charges on political parties ruling the region for years, including his own. Zahid Qamar, A leader from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), accused all PoK leaders, cutting across the party lines of being hand in glove with each other. He said that parties don’t really lose anything even if they are routed in elections as they know they will return to power in five years. Governments in PoK have been functioning on a rotation system, he alleged, where each party gets equal opportunity to loot the exchequer and fill its own coffers. None of the parties has ever shown any interest or willingness in the welfare of the local residents of PoK.
