Assembly Polls: Senior citizens, people with disabilities turn up to vote in Chhattisgarh, Mizoram

Bhanupratappur (Chhattisgarh), Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Aizawl (Mizoram), November 07 (ANI): The electoral battle began on November 07 in Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. A total of 174 candidates are in the fray in Mizoram while 223 candidates in Chhattisgarh. As voters queued up outside polling booths, senior citizens didn’t give voting a miss. Senior citizens, even citizens with disabilities made their way to the polling booths to exercise their franchise. A 96-year-old visually impaired voter, Pu Zadawla cast his vote in 1417 Saron Veng-II, Aizawl. Pu Rualhnudala, 101, his wife Pi Thanghleithluaii, 86, cast their valuable votes at 24/18 Ruantlang PS. Voting is underway for 20 constituencies in the first phase of the Chhattisgarh elections. According to the CEO of Mizoram, the total number of electors in Mizoram stands at 8,51,895.
