Belagavi issue stirs up; Maharashtra passes resolution, aims to bring Marathi-speaking villages back

Belagavi (Karnataka), Dec 27 (ANI): The Belagavi border issue has been further stirred up soon after the Maharashtra government passed a resolution in the state Assembly. The resolution aiming to bring back the Marathi-speaking villages in Maharashtra, criticised Karnataka’s anti-Marathi stance. This came days after Karnataka’s resolution which was passed a few days ago. With the case being dragged into the SC, a meeting regarding the issue was also held between the CMs of both states, was chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Calling the matter an attempt to create fuss due to nearing elections, Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar criticised BJP. Maharashtra BJP President, on the other hand, assured state’s support to the people living at the border.
