British Deputy High Commissioner in India Christina Scott pays courtesy visit to Gujarat CM

Gandhinagar (Gujarat), July 12 (ANI): British Deputy High Commissioner in India Shri Christina Scott paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar. The Deputy High Commissioner invited Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to visit Britain during the discussions of this courtesy visit meeting. She said that the newly formed government in Britain is keen to expand relations with India-Gujarat in the sectors of energy, people-to-people connections and environment. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also showed readiness to participate especially in wind and green energy sector. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held fruitful discussions for Gujarat to experience the specialization and expertise of Britain's sports sector in the context of Gujarat's preparations for hosting the next Olympics. The Chief Minister showed keen interest to know about the creation of excellent infrastructure especially for such games, long-term public use of that infrastructure after the completion of the games. The British Deputy High Commissioner also gave details in this meeting that Britain is cooperating with NFSU in cyber technology, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in expanding public transport electrifying facilities. He detailed Britain's early involvement in new regulations for wind power generation by the Department of Energy and Niti Aayog in India. Discussions on opening a campus of one of the UK's best academic universities in the GIFT city were also held during the courtesy call. Secretary to Chief Minister Mrs Avantika Singh, OSD Shri AB Panchal and MD of GIDC Shri Rahul Gupta were present in this meeting.
