Aug 14, 2022
Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), Aug 14 (ANI): Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia hoisted the national flag at Maharani Lakshmi Bai Smarak in Gwalior on Sunday to pay tributes to the freedom fighters of our freedom struggle. Organised as a part of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign’ and ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’, the event witnessed the participation of several people who had survived the 1947 partition as well as their family members and relatives. As a part of the event, Scindia also inaugurated a photo exhibition organised by the Civil Aviation Ministry. The exhibition showcased the agony of the partition and remembered the tragedy that affected a large number of people. Besides, Scindia also facilitated the family members of freedom fighters. Last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that August 14 will be observed as ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ every year to commemorate the “struggles and sacrifices” of millions who were displaced and who lost their lives during Partition. ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India's independence.
