CM Gehlot launched ‘Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme’

Jaipur (Rajasthan) September 10 (ANI): The Government of Rajasthan is engaged with full commitment so that employment can be provided to the needy even in the urban areas. Under this, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot launched the ‘Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme’ at Ambedkar Bhawan in Jaipur. During this, the Chief Minister released a booklet related to the scheme and also gave job cards to five women. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that this scheme has been started first in the whole country with the aim of providing employment to the residents of Rajasthan. Under this, the state government will provide 100 days of employment to every needy family in the cities. He said that needy families can get employment by making a job card showing Aadhar card. The Chief Minister also said that due to MGNREGA, rural unemployed are getting employment opportunities easily across the country. This has improved their living standard. Keeping this in mind, a decision was taken in the budget to start employment guarantee scheme in urban areas as well.
