Srinagar, Jan 12 (ANI): The ‘Craft Safari Tour’ which was started by the administration in Jammu and Kashmir last year to revive the handicraft sector is kicking and thriving with full progress. The Craft Safari Tour, brings cheer and hope to artisans of the valley, as they are being benefitted and Kashmiri art is getting wide attention. Kashmiri art is famous all over the world and with its purity and artisans of the valley are always trying hard to maintain the value of this old-age art. But due to duplicate branding and COVID, this unique art has been affected badly. To uplift the artisan community and promote this art at large scale, the Department of Handicraft came up with the unique initiative of the Craft Safari Tour. Under the supervision of the Director of Handicraft Kashmir, the officials paid weekly visits to different workshops of artworks like carpet weaving, wood carving, and crewel work and listen to their grievances. With this drive, the Department is providing assistance to artisans to solve their problems and provide them with a proper platform to promote their art. Artisans in the valley hope that this drive will be continued in future and also the government will take more steps to promote Kashmiri art.
