Delhi Jama Masjid protest: Case registered under Section 188, says DCP Swati Chauhan

New Delhi, June 11 (ANI): A day after protest took place at Jama Masjid over controversial remarks made by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s over Prophet Muhammad, Central District DCP, Shweta Chauhan on June 11 said that the protest was done without permission and a case under Section 188 has been registered against the perpetrators. Speaking to ANI, Chauhan said, “Yesterday's protest at Jama Masjid was done without permission. People came to offer namaz at the mosque & did demonstrations after leaving it. There were attempts to provoke religious sentiments as well; we have registered a case on the same.” "Case registered under Section 188 and more Sections will be added to it, keeping in view the provocation as witnessed by our police force and in the contents of CCTV footage that have been acquired,” she added.
